National Training Project- Practical Pediatric Oncology held at Kasturba Medical College and Hospital, Manipal

Manipal: The division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology along with Pediatric Hematology and Oncology chapter of Indian academy of Pediatrics conducted the National Training Project- Practical Pediatric Hematology in Interact Building, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal.
Dr Archana M V, Assistant Professor and organizing secretary of the CME gave an overview of the workshop. The workshop involved lectures and practical skill stations with hands on training for delegates on performing procedures and inserting central lines.
The workshop was attended by more than 70 delegates with extensive discussion on various topics in pediatric Oncology. The workshop featured guest speakers from prestigious institutes across India like Regional Cancer Centre, Trivandrum, Narayana Hospital, Bengaluru, Malabar Cancer Centre, Thalasseri, Sri Shankara cancer Hospital, Bengaluru and St John’s Hospital- Bengaluru.
Dr Vasudeva Bhat K, Head of the division informed during vote of thanks that such workshops give the post graduate trainees an opportunity to develop interest in the field.
Dr Padmaraj Hegde, Dean of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal said that “The workshop would enable the pediatricians as well as trainees in pediatrics to learn as well as update their knowledge on pediatric Oncology”.
