Bandipur National Park, which shares borders with three state forests, has clinched the title of the best wildlife sanctuary for the second consecutive time.

In a comprehensive survey spearheaded by the Central Government’s National Tiger Conservation Authority, in collaboration with the Wildlife Institute of India and the Ministry of Environment and Forests, the rigorous selection process meticulously evaluated various parameters.

These included forest and wildlife conservation efforts, initiatives aimed at mitigating human-animal conflicts, management of tourist influx, and maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene standards, among others. The survey encompassed several protected areas across the country.

Emerging as the top contender in this prestigious ranking is Kerala’s Periyar Tiger Reserve, securing the coveted first position. Following closely behind, Bandipur National Park clinched the second spot, while Nagarhole Tiger Reserve secured the third position.
