National workshop on “Compliance and Data Integrity”

Manipal: A two-day national workshop on “cGMP, Compliance and Data Integrity” was organized by GMP unit, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS) in association with Medorganics India Pvt. Ltd. was held on September 21 and 22, 2018 at PGR conference hall, MCOPS.

Chief Guest Dr. Madhukar Mallya H, Deputy Registrar – Evaluation, MAHE in his inaugural address said that the current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and compliance plays a major role in pharmaceutical manufacturing and were statutory regulatory requirements. He also stated that practices adopted in pharma industry must be to update as per FDA guidelines.

Guest of Honour MrPramodHegde, CMD, Medorganics India Pvt. Ltd unveiled the logo of GMP unit. Dr C Mallikarjuna Rao, Principal MCOPS in his welcome address said that the theme of the workshop was the need of hour and explained the significance of cGMP, Compliance and Data Integrity in pharmaceuticals to the delegates.

Dr Girish Pai K, convener of the GMP workshop briefed about the importance of this workshop and various activities of GMP unit. Dr M Sreenivasa Reddy proposed the vote of thanks.

Many eminent speakers from academia namely Dr Akhilesh Dubey, Dr Krishnananda Kamath, Dr Muddukrishna B S, Dr Venkatakrishna K (Lead QA Auditor and Industry Expert) and Mr Sateesh Karanth from Astra Zeneca Pharma India Pvt. Ltd shared their experience with the delegates from various colleges across India.

Faculty, students and research scholars from other colleges across the country had registered for this workshop in large numbers. Delegates also included professionals from pharma majors like Hetero Labs Ltd and Astra Zeneca Pharma India Pvt. Ltd.
