Navaratri celebrations in Karavali coast begin today

Mangaluru / Udupi: The temples in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi are all set for the celebrations of Navaratri and Dasara festivities that begin on September 26.
Special pujas will be held as part of Navaratri’s 9 days of celebration in the major temples of the coast, Vijayadashami program will be held on the tenth day. Various shrines are decked out with festive electric lighting and flower arrangements.
Special Navaratri puja will be performed at various temples dedicated to the Goddess including the famous Shree Mangaladevi Temple, Kateel Shree Durgaparameshwari Temple, Polali Shree Rajarajeshwari Temple, Bappanadu Shree Durgaparameshwari Temple in Dakshina Kannada.
Moreover, the public Sri Sharada Mahotsava of Car Street is holding its centenary celebrations.
The popular Mangaluru Dasara festivities at Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Kshetra will also be held in a grand manner this year.
In Udupi, daily worship of the goddess will be held at Sri Krishna Matha. Special pujas will be held in various temples of theGoddess including those at Kollur, Mandarthi, Uchchila, Nilavara, Nandikur, Kunjaru, Kadiyali, Indrani, Bailur, Puttur, Kannarpadi, Ambalapadi, Kukkundur in Karkala.
This year, a grand public Sharada Mahotsav is being organized at the temple at Uchchila.
“Mangaluru Dasara” begins today
Mangaluru: Mangaluru Dasara Mahotsav of the Kudroli Shri Gokarnath Temple will be held from September 26 till October 6. The festivities will be held in their full splendor this year.
H S Sairam, the president of the temple administration said that Pushpalankara Mahapuja will be held every day at 12.30 PM during the Navaratri festival. Bhajan programs, Sri Devi Pushpalankara Puja, Annadaana, and cultural programs will also be held.
