Naveen Kanchan in state volleyball team

Kollur: Having shown himself as a dependable talent through his all-round performance in the volleyball court, youth player Naveen Kanchan has been selected for the Karnataka state volleyball team which will be participating in the senior national volleyball tournament. He is playing in the senior national volleyball tournament being conducted in Punjab on Sep 27th.

Naveen is the son of Manjunatha and Ratna couple, residents of Nyagalamane located within Chittur GP limits and is a BCom graduate.

Naveen stands 6.4 feet tall with an athletic built which is an advantage for the game of volleyball. Coming from a rural background, he has achieved the praise of having played in the national and international solely due to his talent.

He has identified himself as a player who is in demand. Nationally renowned sponsors are inviting him to become their sponsored player.

Naveen has established his own unique style in playing the volleyball game including service, passing, attacking and blocking. In that too, he has become the reason for the team’s success through his fierce attacking jump service. The trainers, who recognized the hidden talent within the player, have trained him well and prepared for the game. He has become a national level talent through the guidance of Basrur Sri Sharada College PT instructor Sooraj Kumar Shetty and Kundapur national level volleyball players Mohammed Sameer and Sunil Kumar Shetty.

Having participated in several inter-state volleyball championship being held in Karnataka, Kerala, Pune and Mumbai, he has also won the best smasher and best overall player talents.

Ingenious player

He attracts attention through his under service, jump service, floater service, smash, diving, straight, turn smash. All in all, he is a very visible player throughout the court – Dr| Sudhakara Nambiar
