Navi Mumbai: A woman working as a nanny in a Mangalorean Catholic household at Vashi here was arrested for physically abusing a newborn baby.

The woman identified as Irene Vas, resident of Bambilapadavu in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district, was hired by the family of the newborn soon after the baby’s birth.

Later the family found that the baby would keep crying incessantly and when taken to a paediatrician they were told that the baby has blood clots in its hands and legs as well as swelling in few other parts.
