Mangaluru: Almost after a week since two armed men threatened a railway staffer on duty, the Anti-Naxal Force (ANF) have launched a combing operation in Yedakumeri and the bordering area of Dakshina Kannada, Hassan and Kodagu districts.
Apparently, there is suspicion that the railway official was threatened by naxals. Teams of 12 ANF personnel have been combing in the reserve forests braving heavy rain in the region. The combing operation started on Saturday in Dakshina Kannada-Hassan border areas, Bisle Ghat, Gadi Chamundeshwari Gudi and other areas.
According to sources, a railway worker was on duty near Yedakumeri tunnel when two unidentified persons carrying arms had threatened him and later fled from the spot.
