Nekkilady: Mescom lineman dies of electrocution

Uppinangady: A Mescom lineman died of electrocution at 34 Nekkilady near Uppinangady on Wednesday, June 12. The deceased is identified as Mitya Nayak(35) from Davanagere.

On June 12, the power line along Berike police quarters had been shut down for mainline repair works. After repair works, Mitya attempted to switch on the transformer when he accidentally came in contact with electricity. Immediately, his colleague Sabanna screamed for help. Soon locals rushed to the spot and shifted him to Puttur government hospital but to no avail.

The deceased was employed as lineman in Uppinangady Mescom branch and had been transferred to Uppinangady department just three months back.  He is survived by his wife and daughter.
