Netravati River claims the life of an Ayyappa devotee

Bantwal: An Ayyappa devotee who had gone to Netravati River near Thumbe dam for bath drowned on Saturday January 5th. The deceased is identified as Madange, Kallige village resident Hariprasad(23), son of Raja.

Hariprasad had gone on four pilgrimages to Sabarimala in the past and was preparing for fifth pilgrimage with Girish Guruswamy and friends on January 6. He was thing together with five other Ayyapa devotees wearing below Thumbe dam as usual when fate struck and he drowned.

A case in this connection is registered in Bantwal rural police station. Bantwal rural SI Prasanna and staff Jayaram visited the spot and took up investigations.
