New city police commissioner DR P S Harsha takes charge

Mangaluru: IPS officer Dr P S Harsha took over charge as the Mangaluru city here at police commissioner’s office on Friday, August 9.
In the backdrop of the quick transfer of the erstwhile police commissioner Sandeep Patil, his post was to be taken over by state intelligence division DIG Dr Subrahmanyeshwar Rao. But, Mr Rao’s order was cancelled and under another transfer order, Dr P S Harsha was appointed the police commissioner of the city.
The new police commissioner has previous experience of discharging police duty in the city and had begun his carrier as Puttur ASP. He was the commissioner of the department of information during 2017-18.
