Bengaluru: A new authority will be formed for SSLC and II PUC exams from the next academic year
It is said that the government has constituted a committee, headed by Anbu Kumar, commissioner for the department of public instruction to give recommendations for the setting up of the authority. Rs 50 crore has been set aside for the creation of a common examination board.
There were demands of the department of primary and secondary education to merge the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) and the department of pre-university education.
But as the employees of both the departments objected to this, the government dropped the concept. Now, the formation of separate exam authority will put an end to this demand
It is said that a senior IAS officer will be appointed to look into both SSLC and PU examinations and the commissioner for public instruction and director of the department of pre-university education will manage other administrative works
Currently, the government is waiting for a report from the committee to finalize constitution of the authority
