New releases fizzle out as KGF Chapter 2 sizzles at the box office on weekend

For the third week straight, Yash starrer KGF: Chapter 2 continues to sizzle as the new Bollywood releases had a disappointing weekend. The Tiger Shroff starrer Heropanti and Ajay Devgn’s Runway 34, failed to impress the moviegoers over the weekend. The box office numbers and collections were poor for both films.
Negative reviews of Heropanti 2 must-have dented its earning prospects. A report in Box Office India said Heropanti 2 saw a dip in business. The film starring Tiger Shroff, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Tara Sutari, could only manage to rake in around 11 crores in the first 2 days of business — Rs 6.25 crores on Day 1 and 4.75 crores on Day 2.
Similarly, Runway 34 earned only about Rs 7.5 crores on the opening weekend. The only consolation was that the earning showed an increasing trend on Day 2 with Rs 4.5o crores, up from Day 1 collection of Rs 3 crores.
Whereas, Kannada super hit KGF Chapter 2 had another solid weekend at the Indian box office. It grossed Rs. 47 crores approx in its third weekend at the Indian Box Office. This was a drop of 65 percent from the previous weekend, the numbers look good considering the high-profile releases this weekend.
