New Year Awards for DK, Udupi persons on Jan 13

Manipal: The Annual New Year Awards, jointly organized by Academy of General Education, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (deemed to be University) and Syndicate Bank will be held on January 13, 2018 at Fortune Inn Valley View. The awards, instituted in 1941 recognizes four prominent personalities of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts every year.  They are honoured for their contributions in the fields of education, social, cultural and other areas where they have excelled.

The four who have been chosen for the honour this year are: Dr H. Vinod Bhat Vice Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dr M Shantharam Shetty, Pro Chancellor of NITTE (deemed to be University), Dr Kadri Gopalnath, a saxophonist par excellence, and, the well-known writer Janaki Srinivasa Murthy better known as Vaidehi.

The felicitation function will be held at the Valley View lawn and is scheduled to start at 6.30pm. Prior to that Dr Kadri Gopalnath will present a concert along with his team.
