Puttur: A newly-married woman has been reported missing from her residence since September 18 night.
The missing woman, Afreena (19), a Sullia resident had tied the knot with Mohammed Fayaz of Puttur a few months ago. The couple seemed to be happy in the initial days of their marriage but with the passage of time the two started quarrelling over petty issues and would even sleep in different rooms.
On September 18 the couple had retired to bed as usual. However when Fayaz woke up at around 11:45 pm he found that Afreena was not around. Though family members began searching for her frantically in and around the house, they were unable to trace her. Moreover, no one at her maternal house was aware of Afreena’s whereabouts.
Ashraf immediately lodged a missing complaint at Puttur station. Ashraf, in his complaint, has mentioned that Afreena has taken away Rs 13000 cash and 12 grams of gold. Investigation is in progress.
