Ramanagara: Union Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy publicly clarified on Sunday evening that his son Nikhil will not contest the Channapatna by-election.

Speaking at the Bamul program in Channapatna, Kumaraswamy said, “Only I know the pain Nikhil is experiencing after losing twice. Yogeshwar might be a candidate for the Channapatna by-election. It could also be a JD(S) candidate. Regardless of who the NDA candidate is, let us work together,” he said.

“I will request the Prime Minister to provide incentives to milk producers nationwide. I will discuss this with the Prime Minister to persuade him to give 2 to 3 rupees per litre to all dairy farmers in the country,” he added.

Indirectly attacking D.K. Shivakumar, he said, “Those who have come to ‘redeem’ Channapatna should first provide the pending 61 crore rupees incentive for milk production to Channapatna taluk.”
