Nisha James takes charge as SP

Udupi: Nisha James took charge as the new superintendent of police (SP) of the district on Saturday, February 23rd. Nisha was transferred to her current position along with the transfer of the previous SP Laxman Nimbargi by the government in a communication dated February 20.

In a message for the people the new SP said that she is new to the district and will study the problems faced by the people soon. “Law and order in the district is the first priority.” Nisha assured.

Nisha was previously the commandant of the 4th  battalion, KSRP, Bengaluru. She secured the 179th rank out of 998 selections made through the 2012 civil service exam and is a BA (Honours) and MA in English Literature from Delhi University’s Lady Shri Ram College. She is originally from Kerala.
