Nitish Patil takes over as Dharwad district DC

Dharwad: Nitish Kallanagowda Patil was sworn in as the new Deputy Commissioner of the district on June 30.
Patil is a native of Kerotagi village in Sindagi taluk of Vijayapur district. He has studied in Vijayapura upto SSLC, completed his PUC at Bengaluru and received his B.Sc (Computer Science) degree from NIT, Allahabad (Prayagraj).
After a brief stint as a software engineer, he appeared for the UPSC’s Civil Service Examination in 2012 and joined the Indian Administrative Service.
During his Probationary Period, he served as tahsildar of Koodligi and Hagaribommanahalli taluks. Later he served as the Sub-Divisional Officer of Sagar.
He also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Chitradurga District Panchayat and served as the Deputy Commissioner of the Commercial Taxes Department.
The outgoing Deputy Commissioner of the district Deepa Cholan has been transferred to Bengaluru as the Planning Director of Sarva Shikshan Abhiyan.
