No earthquake: Kodagu district administration

Madikeri: The news being shared on social media that weak earthquake was witnessed at a few places in Kodagu district has been proved false with proof by Kodagu district administration.
Considering the news seriously the district administration contacted the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) and requested clarification. In response, the director of KSNDMC Shrinivas Reddy clarified that no weak earthquake tremors had been recorded at 14 separate earthquake measuring stations in the state.
The earthquake measuring unit at Harangi reservoir also did not measure any tremors. The weather of all the villages is being monitored and no needs to be scared in this connection, assured the director.
The fake news of experiencing slight earthquake post the sound of thunder on Thursday evening at Nelyahudi Kere near Siddapura got shard wildly on social media and create an environment of fear.
