Karwar: A hotel in Gokarna town is supporting the efforts of government agencies and election commission to ensure a high voter turn out in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Pai restaurant has displayed a notice in front of the hotel saying that tourists visiting the restaurant on the poll dates – April 18 and 23- will not be provided food at the hotel.

“Kindly stay at your places and vote for a new India, considering the importance of elections,” reads the notice in Kannada.

The notice is aimed at people who take advantage of the public holidays announced on poll dates to plan a holiday. Earlier this week Shivamogga district administration issued an order asking the hospitality industry to refuse booking to tourists visiting the district on the poll dates
