Mangaluru: After many misleading messages are being spread on social media that there is a holiday for schools and colleges on Friday, August 9, Deputy commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada district, Sasikanth Senthil clarified that there will be no holiday for schools and colleges in the district on Friday.

False information was being circulated on the social media by twisting the date of the order of DC that was given for holidays on Wednesday and Thursday, saying that holiday is declared on Friday also.

However, the DC has requested the public not to believe these rumours and cleared that there will not be any holiday on Friday and further added that that strict action will be taken against those creating confusion among the general public by posting fake messages.

Meanwhile, Deputy commissioner (DC) of Udupi district, Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, has announced that there will be a holiday for schools and colleges in the district on Friday.
