Bengaluru: Health and Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar has clarified that there is no need to worry about the Delta Plus variant of the novel coronavirus.
Speaking to reporters here he said that one case of Delta Plus variant was found in Bengaluru and another in Mysuru. Both the cases are showing mild symptoms.
“The Mysuru patient has completely recovered. Not much problem has been caused by this new variant. Their primary contacts have tested negative. So there is no need to be particularly worried about this variant. Genome sequencing of the new variant is done every day,” he said.
“A meeting presided by the chief minister will be held on controlling the new variant. There are some differences in the treatment of the Delta and the Delta Plus variant. Experts have informed us about this,” he added.
