Udupi: There is no objection to the inclusion of former minister and Congress leader Pramod Madhwaraj into the BJP and the same has been conveyed to the party’s state functionaries, said BJP’s Udupi district president Kuilady Suresh Nayak said on Friday.

This comes as a surprise because the district unit had opposed the move to include Pramod Madhwaraj. The Suresh Nayak acknowledged this and added that the party workers had agreed to welcome Madhwaraj.

Nayak told reporters here that Madhwaraj had held talks with chief minister Basavaraj Bommai and BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel.

When asked whether Muniyalu Udayakumar Shetty would join the bJP, Nayak said he would be welcome if he accepts the party’s ideals and ideology.
