Chikkamagalur: Karnataka Education Minister BC Nagesh on Friday said that there are no plans to close Urdu schools in the state.

Speaking to the reporters, Nagesh said,” The state government will not be closing any of the Urdu schools, instead the schools will be merged to provide better education. Apart from this, Kannada, Tamil, and Marathi schools will also be merged.”

“PU examinations have begun today. Due to Covid-19, there were no offline exams for the past two years. This year the students are all well prepared and I wish them all the best. The entire PU examination process will be held under the surveillance of police and there will be CCTV cameras for round-the-clock monitoring,” he added.
