Mangaluru: The district administration had not violated any protocol during the inaugural of Indira Canteen at B C Road on Sunday December 9, clarified the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district Sasikanth Senthil.

Earlier, BJP MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik had asked the officials to take action against the perpetrators of disturbance and sloganeering against them during the said programme. They had felt that there was protocol violation. It is being said that the inviting of former minister and Congress leader B Ramanath Rai to the function had made the BJP leaders were unhappy.

On Tuesday Dec 11th, the DC responded to a query from the media regarding this issue and said that the people’s representatives were invited as per the government protocol. He noted that land dispute about the location of Indira Canteen had been sorted out amicably and the district administration had ensured that this was addressed legally. A few mistakes committed by lower level officials have been right, added the DC.
