No public New Year celebrations in Udupi: DC Jagadeesha

Udupi: With experts hinting at a possible second wave of COVID-19 in the coming days, district Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha has decided to ban all public celebration on New Year’s Eve across the district.

In a video posted on Facebook, he said, “This time the government has issued certain rules for the New Year celebrations due to COVID-19. These rules will be in force from December 31 to January 2. During this time, clubs and hotels cannot host special New Year events.”

“Also, public celebrations will not be allowed, people can celebrate at their homes and only green firecrackers must be used,” he added.
