No school bag day celebrated in Udupi district

Udupi: All government, aided and private schools in Udupi district celebrated the ‘No school bag day’ on June 30th.
The students arrived happily to the school to celebrate the ‘No school bad day’ at the school. The students were excited to take part in the extra-curricular activities. Lessons and extra-curricular activities were organized in relation to the day. Teachers attempted to teach the lesson through different games.
The activities were conducted in relation to the topics to be taught. The students enthusiastically took part in the various activities including quiz, games, information regarding the books, handicraft, drawing, rangoli and other activities. This provided a new form of experience for the students in the classroom.
Students happily took active part in all the activities organized for them and they celebrated this new experience. The children were upbeat for the day on the removal of the heavy school bag off their backs.
Plastic awareness
“School parliament activity was conducted at a few schools. At a few other schools, the students were taken on a visit to a place of cultivation. Students in Saligrama town panchayat distributed roses among the shops here, requesting them to stop using plastic bags, switch over to cloth bags and thus attempted in spreading awareness on plastic. The special ‘No school bag day’ has received good response and is a success,” expressed Udupi DC Priyanka Mary Francis.
