No water in M’luru today

Mangaluru: In the backdrop of the drop in water level at Thumbay vented dam and in accordance to the rationing rule, the water supply to the city will be stopped on May 8th. Due to the rationing on Tuesday, the people faced problem due to the lack of water.
As per the rule, water supply shall be stopped from 6am of May 7th to 6am of May 9th. Water supply will be restarted for a period of 96 hours from 6 am on May 9th to 6am of May 13th.
The water level at Thumbay vented dam id falling 5 to 5 cms daily. The water level which was at 4.38mt on Monday morning has fallen to 4.34mt in the evening. On Tuesday, the water level at the dam was at 4.27mt. The presently created water rationing plan will be in effect until May 21st.
In the backdrop of water rationing, it was difficult to provide water to houses located in elevated areas and those located at the end of the pipelines due to which, the people in Mangaluru suffered the lac of drinking water.
