“Not an April Fool’s prank,” tweets DGP with a warning

Bengaluru: Karnataka DGP Praveen Sood on Wednesday, April 1 reminded people that the police department was not joking about confiscating their vehicles if they violate the lockdown rules.
“This is not an April Fool’s prank. Two/ four wheelers are banned from use till the 14th of April. We will SEIZE your vehicle if you CEASE to ignore this lockdown regulation,” tweeted Sood.

Following the nationwide lockdown clamped in view of coronavirus motorists have been advised against going on merry rides. Despite this people have been venturing out in their cars and two-wheelers.
In last one week itself, police confiscated over thousand vehicles of violaters.
The seized vehicles will be returned to respective owners only after the lockdown gets over on April 14.
Meanwhile few netizens have questioned the police regarding why they cant travel in their car if they need to go grocery shopping.
Replying to one such tweet the city police said “Do not buy in bulk, Buy only what is necessary and your nearest store by walk. All grocery stores will be open every day in regular hours kindly cooperate with the lock down. vehicles without passes shall be seized.”
