Mangaluru: MLA from Mangaluru South, Vedavyas Kamath in a pointed criticism has said that the Congress should stop misleading people during these difficult times.
Speaking at a news conference, he said that the opposition party is trying to create an atmosphere of fear among the people by making false claims about Wenlock hospital.
“No effort was made in the past to develop the facilities at the Wenlock hospital. We have increased the ICU beds in the hospital from 12 to 70 and along with 20 other beds available in private hospitals, there are a total of 90 ventilators beds available in the district now,” Kamath said.
“50 ventilators will be brought in more than a week’s time. 250 more oxygen beds will also be installed. Oxygen plants will be set up in all taluk hospitals soon. All these are happening under the BJP government. No development occurred in the district even when UT Khader was the health minister,” the MLA added.
