Livestock owners or transport vehicle drivers who need to transport their livestock have been asked to obtain the necessary permit online from the official website of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Department on working days.
As per the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle (Transportation of Cattle) Rules 2021, issued by the Ministry of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, livestock owners or transport vehicle owners are required to obtain a permit from the online website https://animaltrans.karahvs.in or through Village One or General Service Centers for transporting cattle in a vehicle from one place to another.
The applicants need to submit the following documents — RC & photo of vehicle used for transportation, vehicle owner details, driver’s name and license details, identity card with a photograph of cattle, Ear Tag number and vaccination details of cattle, name, and address of buyer of cattle, date of shipment, duration and route of shipment — and pay the prescribed fee while applying for the permit.
The Assistant Director of Sullia Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medical Services Department informed that applications with required documents will be validated and the license will be issued in the respective institutions after the inspection of the cattle (cattle inspection by a veterinarian is mandatory).
