Notification issued for phase 1 of LS polls for 14 seats in K’taka on Apr 18

Bengaluru: The Election Commission on Tuesday issued a notification kick-starting the poll process for first phase of elections for 14 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka.

Karnataka will go to vote in two phases, the second being on April 23.

The process of nomination began with the issuance of this notification and will continue till March 26.  Scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on March 27 and the last day of withdrawing nomination is March 29.

The 14 Lok Sabha seats where Polling will be held on April 18 includes Udupi-Chikamagalur, Hassan, Dakshina Kannada, Chitradurga (SC), Tumkur, Mandya, Mysore, Chamarajanagar (SC), Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru North, Bengaluru Central, Bengaluru South, Chikkaballapur and Kolar (SC).

Counting of votes polled will be held on May 23.
