Notorious criminal killed in encounter with STF

Lakhimpur Khiri: A notorious criminal, carrying a cash reward of Rs 50,000 on his head, was killed in a joint operation by special task force (STF) and Khiri police, an official said today. Nilu Chaudhary, a resident of Hapur, was killed in an encounter on Saturday night, said Abhiskek Singh, SSP STF.
According to Singh, 19 cases including that of murder, loot and dacoity were registered against the accused in different states. Chaudhary alias Fauji had escaped from a jail in Haryana in 2015 and was absconding since then, Singh said.
A pistol and some cartridges were seized from his possession, he said, adding that his body was sent for post-mortem.
