Notorious gang kidnap businessmen

Shivamogga: The son-in-law of a businessman in the city was abducted by an armed gang on July 5. 

The police sources said that Samiyulla, the son-in-law of businessman Heven Habib and his business partner Ansar were kidnapped by the notorious gang of Zameer aliyas Bachha. 

On July 5, the kidnappers entered the marble shop owned by the victims in the pretense of clients at 6 PM. Pointing a gun, they informed Samiyulla, who was working in the shop at the time, to conform to their directions. Ansar who entered the shop later was also captured. The kidnappers utilized the car of the victims to transport them to maintain a strategic distance from suspicion, the police said. The kidnappers additionally called Heven Habib demanding Rs 5 Crore as a payoff for releasing the victims. 

Heven Habib expeditiously informed the police about the ransom call and looked for help to free his sonin-law. 

Following up on the complaint, the police cautioned patrol vehicle to look for the car. But, the police were unsuccessful in following the car as the culprits continued changing their position. At a certain point the police blocked the culprits’s car however they managed to escape by harming the police van, said Superintendent of Police Abhinav Khare. 

It is accumulated that Zameer visited Heven Habib’s residence and made frenzy demanding payment amidst this occurrence. 

On accepting an payment of Rs 2.5 Lakh from Habib, the group at last discharged the victims close Laxmi Theater at 9.30 PM, said sources near the family. 

After about 2.5 hours in captive, the two victims returned securely to their families. But, the group made a speedy escape without being seen by the police. The police knew neither the whereabouts of the kidnappers nor the thought process behind the kidnapping, when reports last came in. 

The police said Zameer aliyas Bachha has a few complaints enlisted against him including those of burglary, theft and kidnapping at the Tunga Nagar Police Station. Sources said that the police are on a search for Zameer for a month.
