New Delhi: Shortly after the Assam government on Saturday released the final list of National Register of Citizens (NRC), Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari called for a similar exercise in New Delhi.

Stating that the in the national capital situation is becoming dangerous because of the illegal immigrants who have settled here, he said that there is a need of National Register of Citizens (NRC) in New Delhi.

Earlier in the day the Assam government, while announcing the final NRC list said a total of 3.29 crore people had applied for the NRC, of which 3.11 were found to be eligible to be included in the final list. Nearly 19 lakh people, who have been excluded from the list now face the danger of being declared illegal migrants if they don’t contest their exclusion.
