Bantwal: Environmental engineer of Bantwal municipality, Yasmeen Sultan was severely criticized by the public after a video of her using the same thermometer to check body temperatures of several civic workers went viral on social media.
The health department has prescribed that thermometer should be put in boiling water before using it for anyone else, however, Yasmeen Sultan in a video was shifting the thermometer from one mouth to the other without bothering to sterilize it.
After the video went viral, there has been widespread anger at the irresponsible behavior of a government official and Chief officer of the municipality Leena Britto, has served a notice on the environmental engineer seeking an explanation on this irresponsible behavior.
Since April 19 onwards 4 cases including 2 deaths have been detected in Bantwala itself
