Officials instructed to conduct second phase of rain damage survey: Min Eshwarappa

Kalaburgi: Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister KS Eshwarappa stated that he has instructed all Deputy Commissioners and Zilla Panchayat CEOs in the State to conduct the second phase of the survey on the damages caused by heavy rains in the State.

Speaking to reporters here, he added that the first phase of the survey for the current year has been done. Now, as the rains have started again the second survey of damages have been instructed.

He also said the department would take necessary action to repair rain-damaged roads and bridges.

Last time, heavy rains flooded northern Karnataka. The State government had released Rs 1,500 crore then, said Eshwarappa.
