Officials instructed to take precautionary measures for monsoon eventualities: DC Sasikanth Senthil

Mangaluru: Addressing a meeting held at the DC office auditorium on Monday, the Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil has instructed officials to take all necessary precautionary measures in order to avoid any eventuality during rains and natural calamities.
Officials were directed to analyse problems that occured previously in areas prone to artificial flooding, to take stock of the water inflow and outflow from dams, suitable advice and suggestions to farmers on areca diseases, to identify places for Ganji Kendras, to keep boats on standby in the eventuality of floods, to operate a disaster management control room at taluk levels, to identify places where there is possibility of landslides, to take preventive measures against sea erosion and to intimate public in advance regarding any adverse weather condition.
He also instructed health officials to check the spread of water borne and contagious diseases during monsoon.
