Bajpe: Airport taxi drivers at the Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) have allegedly attacked Ola taxi drivers here on Wednesday, February 13.
Apparently, a group of airport taxi drivers went to the Ola and Uber taxi stand near the airport and abused the Ola drivers there with provocative words. When Ola drivers questioned their motive behind the use of foul language, the pre-equipped airport taxi drivers attacked the Ola drivers with lethal weapons including rods.
The attack injured an Ola driver identified as Rathan who was admitted to a hospital in the city.
Soon after receiving information, Bajpe police rushed to the MIA and succeeded in containing the situation. Tight police security is deployed at the parking area in the airport, post the incident.
Bajpe police have registered a case and detained four persons in connection with the attack, based on a complaint filed by the injured Ola driver, Rathan.
