One arrested for illegal sale of parrots

Bantwal: A person has been arrested by Bengaluru CID police on the charges of attempting sell parrots illegally in Bantwal. The arrested is identified as Abdulla Fakir (40), a resident of Navoor.
Based on definite lead, Bengaluru CID SI Ravikumar conducted a raid at Melkar where the accused was attempting to sell 26 parrots kept caged in two cages. The raid was conducted based on the information that the accused has previously procured parrots from Tamil Nadu and sold many of them.
The Bengaluru CID police arrived to Bantwal on Friday and caught the accused red handed. The case has been handed over to the forest officer at Bantwal.
A case has been registered under the provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972. The parrots have been seized by the Forest Officer of Bantwal Zone and the accused has been presented before Bantwal judge. For further investigation, the case has been handed over to Mangaluru Forest Officer.
