One arrested in teenager’s murder at Manipal

Udupi: A person has been arrested by Manipal police in connection to the brutal rape and murder of a minor girl that was reported from Sagri at Manipal near here.

The accused was arrested on Wednesday and is identified as Kumar Sangappa, a native of Dharwad. The accused was produced in the Court and has been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days.

The police are also on the lookout for the other two accomplices of Kumar, identified as Harish and Ramesh, who are also involved in this murder.

The corpse of the 17-year-old girl was found near the railway tracks at Sagri in Manipal on Sunday, March 13. The police have registered a case under POCSO Act in connection to this murder.
