Chikkaballapur: One dead, over 10 injured after tempo traveller rams stationary truck

One person was killed on the spot, and over ten others sustained serious injuries after a tempo traveller collided with a stationary truck late Thursday night near Aluru Huligere Cross on National Highway 50 under Kanahosahalli Police jurisdiction limits.
The deceased has been identified as Krishnappa, aged 62. The tempo traveller was proceeding towards Arodi village in Chikkaballapur taluk from Kalaburagi. The passengers were returning to their village after attending an engagement ceremony in Kalaburagi when the accident occurred.
The tempo traveller, carrying 16 people including the driver and two children, collided with a stationary truck that had broken down on the highway. The truck was heading from Gangavati to Mysuru and had stopped near Aluru Huligere village.
The impact of the collision caused significant damage to the front half of the tempo traveller, trapping two passengers inside. The trapped passengers were rescued with help from the locals.
