One dead, two injured in wall collapse at Kulur

Surathkal: A construction worker was killed while two others sustained injuries following a wall collapse at Kulur here on Saturday, September 19.

The deceased has been identified as Umesh, a resident of Neermarga. Basavaraj and Narayana sustained minor injuries in the mishap.

Owing to the heavy rainfall lashing across the district, the compound wall of a school collapsed and fell on the workers who were working at the neighbouring site, belonging to a Jagadish.

Police and locals rushed to the spot. A JCB was deployed to clear the debris and rescue the trapped workers. However, Umesh died without responding to the treatment at the hospital.
