Ballia: One person drowned and two others went missing when their boat capsized in Ghaghra river in Sikandarpur area today, police said.
The incident took place early morning when 15 people were crossing the river in Lilkar village and their boat capsized, District Magistrate Surendra Vikram said. Ramdev Bind (55) drowned in the river while two others are missing, he said adding that others were saved with the help of locals.
A search operation is on to trace the missing people, Vikram said.
