Girl student critical after being knocked down by speeding car

Moodbidri: Four girl students sustained injuries after a speeding Innova car knocked them down while they were waiting at the bus stop here at Kantavara Cross near Beluvai here on Tuesday, August 13 morning.

Among the four injured, the condition of one girls identified as Shubalaxmi, a resident of Belvai Mudayi Kadu is said to be serious.

As per reports, the car that was moving towards Karkala at high speed collided into the girls who were waiting for a bus here and later overturned after ramming into a tree. While three of the students escaped with minor injuries, Shubhalaxmi was flung nearly 15 meters due to the impact of the collision and suffered serious injuries to her head and chest bones. She is admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru.

The car occupants did not suffer any injury.

Moodbidri Police are investigating the case.
