One held for setting ablaze beef stalls at Thokottu

Ullal: Police have arrested a 39-year-old Thokottu resident for allegedly setting ablaze beef stalls at the market here on January 8 night.

The arrested has been identified as Nagaraj.

According to the police, Nagaraj used to purchase beef for his friend named Lateef from a shop located here, In one such instance, Nagaraj reportedly asked the shopowner to put some more meat to which the latter refused.

Feeling humiliated over the incident, an irked Nagaraj set the shop ablaze on January 8 night.

As the market is undergoing renovation, temporary stalls were arranged nearby for the traders in the market. Several of the shops were gutted in the fire incident.
