One injured in local political party clash

Bantwal: Two political parties had a clash over a trivial matter which resulted in one person sustaining serious injuries. The incident took place on the Wednesday night, May 9th.

On Wednesday night a meeting was taking place at the house of a party activist at Nandavara. Many local activists of the same party attended the said meeting. After the meeting concluded, activists from some other political party allegedly raised derogatory slogans against the activists of the party who held the meeting. Heated verbal arguments eventually ended up in a fight.

One person got seriously injured during the fight and has been admitted to a local hospital.

Bantwal police rushed to the spot of the incident and had to resort to mild lathi- charge to diffuse the crowd. They later closed nearby shops to bring the situation under control.
