One more Covid patient discharged post recovery in DK; no new cases for 6th day

Mangaluru: No new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Dakshina Kannada district on Friday, April 10.
Notably, one more Covid positive patient was discharged post recovery today, stated a press release from the district administration.
Out of the 12 confirmed cases detected in Dakshina Kannada so far, a total of five patients have been discharged. Presently seven persons are being treated for the infection in the district.
The discharged youth, aged 21, from Belthangadi taluk with travel history to Dubai was admitted to a hospital on March 24. After undergoing treatment here, his throat swab samples were sent for examinations twice and on both occasions he tested negative. Earlier, on April 6, four covid patients had been discharged from Wenlock Hospital.
As of today, a total of 38,813 people have been screened and 2945 persons have been placed under home quarantine. Of the 402 samples sent for testing till date, 344 turned negative while 12 tested positive. Results of 46 samples are awaited.
Meanwhile 15 persons, including three new admissions are in quarantine at ESI hospital and none at Wenlock hospital.
