One more H1N1 death in DK

Mangaluru: An elderly woman from Bantwal passed away at the Wenlock Hospital in the city on Saturday, October 27 due to suspected H1N1.
The deceased Lalita, 72, a resident of Kanyana was suffering from other health complications as well.
Lalita, who had been admitted to a private hospital a few days ago, following an H1N1 infection was shifted to Wenlock Hospital on Friday night.
District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Ramakrishna Rao asserted that the deceased patient was suffering from various other ailments including kidney related problems. With her death, the total number of deaths due to H1N1, has gone up to five in Dakshina Kannada district.
The DHO said that out of the 442 samples tested in the district 48 have tested positive for H1N1. Of the 48 cases, six patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals and 37 patients have recovered, he informed.
