One train canceled, six delayed after railway tracks develop cracks

Mangaluru: A train was canceled and six others were delayed, after cracks were observed on the railway tracks between Kulshekar and Padil here on Wednesday, August 25.
Track manager Chandan Kumar, observed that a few clips of the railway tracks between Kulshekar and Padil had been broken and danger signal was being flashed, at about 1.10 am and brought the same to the notice of higher ups.
Thereafter, the Yog Nagari Rishikesh – Kochuveli train was withheld. After the repairs were completed, the said train reached Mangaluru Junction at 7 pm and continued its journey. The train was delayed by over six hours.
The Mangaluru Central-Margao intercity special train No. 6602 was cancelled on Wednesday.
The Thiruvananthapuram Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express, Bengaluru-Karwar express, Nagercoil-Gandhidham Express, L T Mumbai-Thiruvananthapuram Netravati Express, and Ernakulam Junction-Hazarat Nizamuddin Duranto weekly express trains moved with delay.
These trains were halted at Mangaluru Junction, Manjeshwar, Surathkal and Kasargod railway stations during the period the tracks were being repaired.
