Bengaluru: As onion prices started to fall after nearly raising to complete a double century, eatery owners across the city have
heaved a sigh of relief.
The bulbous vegetable which is now selling at Rs. 89-90 was at Rs. 150-160 per kilogram till a few days ago causing many hoteliers and restaurateurs heartburn along with tears while using it.
The soaring prices resulted in the central government initiating urgent imports of nearly 12000 metric tonnes of onion which is said to have reduced the prices even further.
